The easiest way is to enable admin settings to auto apply tagging across families. However, family coding may be applied at the document level by selecting family members in the document viewer and then applying and confirming the desired tags.

Family coding means that document families, such as emails with attachments, have consistent tags applied to them. For Reveal, Percipient recommends that tag propagation is enabled so that a tag applies across the entire document family when any one of the documents in the family is tagged. Tag propagation acts as a quality control measure to ensure that families are tagged consistently. It also saves time so the review is more efficient.
To enable tag propagation in Reveal, navigate to "Tags" under "Project Admin". Edit the tag you wish to propagate by clicking the pencil icon. In the pop-up, check "Family Members" under "Auto Update" then click "Update."
Instructions to Manually Family Code.
Step 1: Expand the "Family Members" section of the document viewer by clicking the carrot.
Step 2: Check the box next to "Select All" in the "Family Members" section. You should now see a check mark in all boxes next to the document name.
Step 3: Next, select the tags that you want to apply to the family. For example, the selections in the below screenshot would apply "Non-Responsive" and "Not Privileged" tags to the entire family.
Step 4: Either click on the disk icon or toggle to the next document to confirm your tag selections. A pop-up will appear, review the tags and click "Yes" to apply the tags to the family.
NOTES: The original document opened in the document viewer is displayed in the "Family Members" section with bold text.
If a document does not have family members, the "Family Members" section will not be visible.
The "Tags" section has three settings for showing how tags are applied when family coding. A dash, circled in green below, indicates there will be no changes to that tag. A check, circled in orange below, indicates that the tag will be applied. A blank box, circled in blue below, indicates that the tag will be removed. In the below example, the "Not Privileged" tag would be added to the entire family and the previously applied "Non-Responsive" tag would remain on the entire family.
